Ok, here is one final Illustrator assignment.
This one is kind of fun, and you can do whatever you want- let me explain that later.
One of the most important things I hope you take from this class is an introduction to some of the software-Microsoft Office, Adobe products, or some of the other online tools. If you want to get better at it, do some of your own research and continue to get better. Some of you are very skilled in Illustrator- I've said this is class, and I will repeat it on here- you can make an excellent career out of graphic design. You will simply need to continue to work at it to get better.
Today's assignment is an online tutorial of how to draw a cartoon face. I am using it, because I want you to see that you can find similar tutorials on your own, and learn how to draw things and use the tools.
Find the link for how to draw a cartoon face here. Notice it's an anime face. You don't have to draw the face they provided- you can find a face of your own (seriously, use your own face!) through an internet search and draw it. YOU WILL NEED TO VIEW THE TUTORIAL EVEN IF YOU USE A DIFFERENT FACE!
Save, upload to Google Docs when you are done. Make sure it has full color.

Download the following two files. Using Illustrator, you will be using the Pen tool to trace the objects.
Start with the Basic Shapes file- in a new file, click on File-Place. Where ever you have saved the basic shapes file, click it, and make sure you click template. Now, using the Pen tool, try to trace the shapes. When you are done, upload to your Google Docs-Activities. Make sure you save as a PDF, and call it Basic Shapes.

Next, try your hand at these more complicated shapes. The directions are the same- using the pen tool, and make sure you place the file as a template. These shapes won't be easy- practice will make perfect!

Choose your favorite company. If you were British, they would have you choose your favourite.
Some examples: Nike, Worlds of Fun, American Eagle, Apple, McDonald's, etc.
Before I give the assignment- you can find most of the information on the company website. Look for the "About Us," or "History," or "Corporate Info."
11 Slide Powerpoint Presentation (Each item can take up more than one slide)
Introduction: Name of company, logo, slogan.
History of Company: Where did it start? When did it start? Who founded the company? How many stores did it begin with?
About the Company: What does your company do? What do they sell? Where are they located? Are they global, national, local? Who is the target market (Who shops there)?
Mission, Vision, Values, or Goals: This may be a little tricky to find but it should be on their own company website. Do not simply google your company name with
"mission, vision and goals" and then copy and paste what you see.
Your personal opinion of the company: What do you own from this company? Have you visited this company's store(s)? Do you think this company is successful?
Future of company: Can you find any company information about new products? New Rides? What do you personally think this company will do next? Are they expanding? Adding new stores?
Works cited: Place links for all information here
You are to put all information in your own words- no copying and pasting. That would be plagiarizing, and would result in a 0 for this assignment.
Upload to Google docs when you are done. Include pictures when it is appropriate.

You run a photo company. You are going to create a slideshow that will be used as an ad.
The first slide will be the title slide. It must have the Portrait Studio Name, a text box with a slogan, a sound that when you move your mouse over the button it plays a song (that is appropriate for your studio).
You must also have a picture. Choose a picture from Awkward Family Photo. Cut out the background, and make any necessary changes to the color.
On the slide 2, record a minimum :20 testimonial for your portrait studio. Use Quicktime. It should tell people why they need to go to the Portrait Studio. Make it start automatically, and make it play continuous (it doesn’t stop).
You must also choose an appropriate style and background.
When done, email the file to me ([email protected])

Open Microsoft Word.
Make one drawing with the following elements:
Your drawing should create a fireplace with 5 stockings, and a fire in the fireplace. You can only use preloaded shapes on Word. Change the background and fill by right clicking on the shapes- I don't want them in blue, I want them to look real.
Make one more drawing using shapes. This time, make a family of 5 in front of their house with at least 3 trees, a sun, and an airplane. They can have a pet that is clip art or something you found online.
Both of these should be submitted to your Word folder on the Box account. If you get done early, you may work on any missing assignment. Grades are due quickly- this means your Bitstrip should not be overlooked!

Write a short, 3 paragraph essay about Steve Jobs- in the first paragraph, identify Steve Jobs- who he was and what he did.
-In the middle paragraph, pick one of the 17 terms from the Quizlet terms- tell me how Steve Jobs had an effect on that term, like hardware for example.
-In your final paragraph, tell me, in your opinion, how the term you picked would be different if there was NO Steve Jobs- would it never have advanced? This is all hypothetical, so there's no real wrong answer.
When done, email this paper to me at [email protected]
Quizlet Test- Post your scores in the Forums Under Computer Apps Assignments. Also, on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest, rate how prepared you are for a test over these terms.

You will use this site- Tildee- to create a "how-to". You will tell us how to key these letters/symbols: left shift, Period, Comma, U, C, W, Right Shift, B, and Y. You will also need to include pictures for each step, and use proper sentences. Last, I would like for you to include 5 tips for keyboarding.
You will have to create an account. When you are done, it will give you a link to share your "how-to." Post the link on the forum, under Computer Apps Assignments.
